Tatiana fled the war to Moldova. She is getting back on her feet and starting a business with Ukraine products

The war in Ukraine has driven millions of people from their homes, among them is also the family of 40-year-old Tatiana who fled Odessa. They found refuge in the Moldovan countryside, in a flat that belongs to Tatiana’s relatives. Finding a job here is difficult. Caritas Czech Republic in Moldova provided the family with immediate cash support, which have Tatiana time to find a way to provide for her family. Tatiana has set up an e-shop selling Ukrainian specialties and is working to provide for herself and her loved ones.

Svita Andrusyk from Kirovohrad took refuge in Gagauzia, Moldova, and is grateful that thanks to our support she can provide a dignified life for her three daughters.

Ruslan Mendilo, 73-year-old man from Chernihiv region, suffered severe burns after his house was hit by shelling. He can now afford medical care that can save his life thanks to the cash support provided by Caritas Czech Republic.

Lilia from Kyiv can now help her daughter get a proper education

Lilia Yarova is a widow from Kyiv, Ukraine. She was forced to leave her home and a job in the capital because of the war. Together with her daughter, they found refuge in the Lviv region. Thanks to the financial support from Caritas Czech Republic, Lilia can afford to send her daughter to school.

The war in Ukraine writes many stories. Tanya Garhin's family is one of many the war has torn apart. Tanya went to Poland with her younger son, 16-year-old Dimitri stayed at home with his dad. Her eldest daughter remains in Ukraine with her husband and one-month-old daughter. We met Tanya and her son in Przemysl, where people like them received help from the local Caritas.
