Isabela is a future nurse and Alina is a future interpreter. They live together in a dormitory at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian University in Ivano-Frankivsk. Despite illnesses and disabilities, they are full of dreams and determination. To support them on their way to making their dreams come true, the Caritas Czech Republic team renovated and refurbished the student accommodation so that Alina and Isabela could feel confident and comfortable.

With the help of Caritas Czech Republic, Olesia creates games and books that teach children in Ukraine about their safety

Before the Russians invaded Ukraine and occupied her city of Enerhodar, Olesia worked at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe. She fled with her daughter and parents and started a new life in Transcarpathia. In the small kitchen of her rented apartment, Olesia has set up a workshop where she designs and prints educational materials for children. Thanks to a grant from Caritas Czech Republic, she took an illustration course and is able to create characters and stories that teach children about personal safety.

Thanks to you, we finally sleep in warmth and eat breakfast without outerwear,“ says Hryhorij from the Lozuvatka village in the Dnipro region. His family was one of the most vulnerable households supported by Caritas Czech Republic to repair their shell-damaged homes.

Motherhood in war. Thanks to Caritas Czech Republic, Lilya's family welcomes their child in a warm and bright home in the Kherson region

During the full-scale invasion, resilience became a symbol of Ukrainians. In particular, women who dare to give birth during the war in Ukraine. One of them is Lilya. Her eldest son is the same age as the Russian aggression against Ukrainians, and her second pregnancy passed in occupation. The couple fled their home to save the children and now live in an old village house near the front. Despite her trials, Lilya is currently pregnant. With the support of Caritas Czech Republic, the family prepared a new home for the baby's arrival.
