Caritas for Ukraine: Helping Hospitals and Psychosocial Support Teams

Representatives of Caritas CR gave new medical devices to four regional hospitals in Western Ukraine. They also assisted in psychosocial training in Kiev and Lvov.

Caritas will help 11 wounded Ukrainians

On 6^th March 2014, a special military aircraft has transported another 11 people that were injured during recent unrest in Ukraine to the Kbely airport in Prague. They will be treated in the Czech Republic within the MEDEVAC project. Social services will be provided by Caritas of the Archdiocese of Prague. The services include assistance, interpreting, and small-scale shopping. It facilitates orientation in the foreign environment.

Caritas CR: We will support health and help centres in Ukraine

The recent unrest and bloodshed in Kiev has affected not only the residents of the city, but has significantly influenced the lives of people from other regions of Ukraine. Having received a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, further help from Caritas will therefore be directed specifically on Western Ukraine.

Our representative in Kiev: all the wounded can receive help at the centre for protesters

Kiev/Ukraine, Olomouc, 26. 2. 2014: Our Caritas CR representative, P. Rostislav Strojvus, , has negotiated the details of providing further Caritas assistance in Kiev with the Greek Orthodox bishop. Today he will meet with the doctor who coordinated the medical assistance for Majdan.

Appreciation of our partner in Ukraine

Caritas Kolomyja, one of the partners of Archdiocesan Caritas of Olomouc (ACHO) in Ukraine, won a Ukrainian national competition “Dobročinna Ukrajina in 2012”, in the category of “ Philanthropist – the best regional charity organisation”. ACHO has supported this partner for more than six years now and so is extremely pleasured by this award together with the workers from Kolomyja.
